For the new Open Field Trial Centre, Rijk Zwaan wanted to create a site where practical trials, demonstrations and variety trials could all take place. Developing such a centre requires more than just a good design. Energy supply, planning permission, technical systems and construction must also be coordinated from the outset.
AAB supported Rijk Zwaan throughout the entire development and construction process. We drew up the energy master plan, handled the planning applications and developed the technical design for both the greenhouse and the service building. In addition, we supervised the construction and managed the project.
By bringing all the work under a single management structure, we maintained a clear overview and ensured the various components were well coordinated. The result is a new site where research, demonstration and knowledge-sharing within open-field cultivation take centre stage.
This project demonstrates how important it is to link technical, organisational and planning permission issues at an early stage. An integrated approach helps to make complex developments manageable and provides a solid foundation for the future.
